Journal 5 Advice to a new student

Some advice that i would give to a new student is to go to class. If you go to class your chances of passing the class are so much higher if you go. I would also say to be wise about picking morning classes. If your not going to get up for class don’t schedule morning classes.And the last piece of advice i would give is to have fun.

If I got a B+ on a paper, I would be pretty happy. I’am not the best writer. If the teacher didn’t put any comments on the paper I wouldn’t be that concerned because I got a good grade on the paper.

For my first essay in college, I set it up just like any other paper. I started with an introduction then I had three body paragraphs. Then I had a conclusion paragraph. But before I did all of that I did pre-writing. Pre-writing is were you write down idea’s for your body paragraphs before you actually write them. After I did that and wrote my rough draft, I gave my essay to a friend so he could peer review it. Peer reviewing is important because it allows you to see the mistakes you made in your essay and fix them.

Journal 1 Transition

Some ways i plan to take charge of my transition to college is by staying organized, taking care of myself, and try to keep myself away from distractions. I can stay originated by checking blackboard everyday and reading the syllabus for each of my classes, so i can see what i have to do that day. I also will write down my assignments and their due date for each class, so i can stay on top of them and not get behind. Some ways that i can keep myself away from distractions are by turning my phone off when i’m trying to do homework. Or i can go to a quiet place to study.
